Callous Prince

Becker Gray

3.97 AVERAGE

Callous Prince is the second book in the Hellfire club. This book is told from dual points of view from Lennox Lincoln-Ward and Sloane Lauder. Lennox is a Prince and had a rough past. Due to Sloane's father arresting his father in the most public way. Therefore he wants to make Sloane pay.

Sloane doesn't understand why Lennox has such a problem with her. However as the book goes on she realizes her father was involved more in his father's case then she thought. When her father asks for her help in snooping through Lennox's stuff she agrees since he's making her life rough.

However as the story goes on they start to have feelings for each other. Sloane is now hiding what she did from her father from Lennox. What happens when Lennox finds out what she is hiding? Will his feelings be stronger than his hate for her and her father?

I really enjoyed this book, and can't wait for the next one in the series!

Out of the 3 Hellfire Club books that I’ve read, Callous Prince is definitely my favorite! This book is truly an enemies to lovers book and I’m all for it!

Lennox and Sloane are such unique characters. They’re similar, yet different from one another. He hates that he loves her… and she just hates that he hates to love her. It was frustrating to watch their relationship grow throughout the book because Lennox (in my opinion) was taking his anger out on Sloane for all the wrong reasons. His anger should’ve been focused on Sloane’s father – not like she could help the things he’d done. Can’t say too much about that situation as it’d give away the story. Once they both got over their nonsense with one another, they were so steamy! And I loved it!

One of my favorite things about Callous Prince is the fact that Sloane isn’t your typical heroine. She’s strong and takes no ones crap. She’s a bit stealthy and acts as a detective at times. And Lennox, well he may be a Prince, but he’s no Prince Charming.

Callous Prince was a great book that I would definitely recommend. This book can technically be read as a standalone, but if you read them in order, you’ll understand the characters a bit better.

I loved Sloane & her prince. From the beginning you could feel the pull between them. There was angst, jealousy, and they both bullied each other. I loved the way they started bringing their walls with one another. When he told her how he saw her...sigh. This author is still pretty new to me, but I am loving her words!

Thank you to Becker Gray, Serena and the team at Dangerous Press for the advance reader copy of Callous Prince, the second book in the Hellfire Club. This is one of my most anticipated books of the year from Dangerous Press.

Wicked Idol was my fave book that Dangerous Press put out last year so I am over the moon to get to review its sequel. I am not usually a fan of these high school settings for books but Becker Gray does it right! This series is perfect for fans of L.J. Shen’s All Saints High for example. High school done in a way that is sultry, secretive, and steamy.

I am a member of the Dangerous Press’ Review Team, this does not affect the honesty and integrity of my review.

Callous Prince is addictive, had me on the edge of my seat and spicy.

Lennox comes across as cold and ruthless, but there is so much more to him. I never expected him to be the completely opposite of who I originally thought he was and it made me love him even more. Sloane gave me some Veronica Mars vibes and I was loving it! She has her targets set on Lennox, however, she easily lets down her guard when it comes to him.

I loved the chemistry between the two of them. It was off the charts from the very beginning and only seemed to get hotter. Plus add in the banter between the two of them and you have a great combination.

If you’re looking for an enemies to lovers, bully romance that will have you on the edge of your seat this is one to read.

OBSESSED.

Not only am I obsessed with the Hellfire Club Series, BUT I'm also obsessed with the Midnight Dynasty Collection as well. The collection includes this series, Cinderella Trilogy by K. Webster, Starcrossed Lovers Trilogy by Jade West, Hearts Trilogy by M. O'Keefe, and the new Secret Beast Trilogy by Amelia Wilde. There's also a Dark Fairy Tales Anthology that started it all. ALL of the books I've read so far have been phenomenal.

And Callous Prince was no different.

Lennox Lincoln-Ward was a legit prince. He was cold, regal, and one of the best dirty-talking alphaholes EVA. How he could weave in some raunchy ass commentary while sounding like a proper, royal prince was both humorous and sexy AF. His character growth was fantastic.

Sloane Lauder was the daughter of an INTERPOL agent. She was tough, independent, and loyal to a fault. She was also naive and a bit of a pushover.

The chemistry between Lennox and Sloane was angry and intense. STRAIGHT FIRE, y'all.

3.5 stars!

Callous Prince is the second book in a brand-new steamy series by Becker Gray. It’s an enemies to more, bully romance, and which continues the stories of the members of the Hellfire Club, a group of elite friends who are the kings of their school Pembroke Preparatory Academy, and the women who bring them to their knees.

Lennox Lincoln-Ward has hated Sloane Lauder since the minute he set eyes on her and discovered her last name. He blamed her father for so much hurt in his past, and knew that the perfect way to enact revenge was to put it all on Sloane. Sloane is the resident school sleuth, helping students out of sticky situations with her ability to sneak in and of places and acquire information. So, when her father asks her to investigate her bully, she doesn’t hesitate. But in the process of finding out more about Lennox, their relationship changes, from lust to love, and she begins to see a completely different side to the one she though she knew, what should she do about her betrayal?

Once again, Becker Gray has written a great enemies-to-lovers romance. Their hatred for each other was so ingrained, but there was this undeniable chemistry between them. Real life cold and cruel Prince Lennox was so conflicted by his emotions, because he believed he should hate Sloane for how her family had a hand in his own family’s demise, but he couldn’t help the other feelings he has for her, where he wants to be around her at all times, so he masked it with bullying. But Sloane gave as good as she gets, because she has had it trained into her since she was young but also because she can’t understand where Lennox’s hatred for her comes from. I loved her character though, how she had this desire to be accepted by her father, but also how she was fearless to fighting for the truth and doing the right thing.

I didn’t like this plot as much as I did the first book, and there were some lines in the intimate scenes which made me shudder because I didn’t like some of the language used
Spoiler (I am no prude, but telling someone you are owed their virginity is a no from me. You aren’t owed anything I don’t want to give you)
. But other than that, it was still enjoyable with enough drama and steam to keep you invested in Lennox and Sloane’s story. Once again, I was happy that there was no OW/OM which has been massively overdone, and Becker had included enough conflict between them that you did wonder how they would reunite
Spoiler (even if it did all seem to be resolved fairly easily in the end)
.

The secondary characters were even further developed, leaving me ready for the stories that will tell me more about the darkness of Rhys, the moodiness of Owen and the feistiness of Sera, and finally what is going on with Phineas and Aurora! This group of characters have their secrets and I am so ready to read more of this series to find them out.

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. *

a smutty book with a possessive rich boyfriend set in a boarding school??? yes please

Okay Pembrooke Prep's real-life PRINCE?! And a badass female mc who knows self defense... Callous Prince packed all the heat and I was not upset about it alll (except for the third act breakup but shhh we won't talk about that) Lennox and Sloane were EVERYTHING! I enjoyed this book soo much. I haven't visited the Hellfire Club since December of 2021 and boy was it good to be back. Becker Gray has no problems writing some absolutely AMAZING smut and this book was so absolutely addicting...

I really love Becker Gray’s addition to the Midnight Dynasty. I love that this collection is connected by characters but that each book has its own HEA.

This is Sloane and Lennox’s turn, this is more than a story about two kids who find each other, this is a story of trust and forgiveness as well. Their story is a steamy one too.

Becker Gray is giving us characters that could be trite and superficial but instead they are layered and flawed and human.

I am really enjoying this series, it’s a little dark, a little twisty and emotionally raw. It goes above and beyond what we are used to. I can’t wait to read more!
