This was just ok, it was fast paced enough (with 2X speed on my audiobook) that it kept my attention but I didn't blow me away. The narration felt a little flippant at times and I felt like she just breezed by some details that I felt could have done with some more explanation.

I listened to some of this on audio (can’t beat listening to books about the author read by the author!). I enjoyed learning about Mulgrew’s life but since I primarily know and love her from Star Trek: Voyager, I would have enjoyed more about that period in her life. Interesting read if you’re a fan of Kate Mulgrew!

This is enjoyable and moving, if you accept it for what it is. Based on other reviews, a lot of people wanted it to be reminiscences about Star Trek: Voyager. In fact Voyager is only a small part of the story and the focus is more on Mulgrew’s complex personal life. I enjoyed it a lot and the description of her first meeting with her daughter brought tears to my eyes.

I listened to Kate Mulgrew's Audible version of the book and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is not the typical vacuous celebrity memoir. Mulgrew is quite a storyteller--perceptive about what to include and, more important, what to omit. And she can actually write! Honest, unapologetic, funny, and engaging.

This is her story and written by Kate. She is a known actress and best known as the Captain in Star Trek. This is her story of her life her family friends lovers co stars
It is a very interesting read and written ok
I was very moved with something she caused later in her life
I like her from this story.
After reading this I did outside reading about her. She ended the story at her life about 20 years ago I think. She doesnt give us any dates only once after her twenties does she mention something about her age. She ends with the return of a man she loved who disappeared 5 years - Ted Hagan. In the reading I did I learn more about her currently that she doesnt want to include.
As a memoir of some of her years it is interesting

Kate Mulgrew's voice is lyrical and her words powerful. Her stories captivated and affected me; I was brought to tears on several occassions. I loved this memoir, and am glad I bought the audio version.

My only complaint is that it ends too soon. Where are her stories from the last 15 years? But I will not subtract a star for my disappointment. It ends well.

Way deeper and more interesting than expected. Surprisingly great writing and reflection on a complexly layered life.
