This was a great holiday romance, quick read, and a great little romance to set you into the mood for Christmas.
I love the second chance and forbidden desires in this little story. There were so many times I was cursing D.L. for keeping me on my toes and just wanting them to get together!!

THIS WAS SOOOO GOOD.
i think this has been my favorite of the entire series thus far - I may have said it before, but def this one.
The banter was absolutely everything! I loved the best friend banter between Sab and Ruby, but the banter didn’t stop with them.. Between Ruby and Maddox the banter was so good too.
I loved all the characters, their relationships between them and i loved seeing Dennis and Sidney in this one too. I truly love Evergreen Lake and will be so sad when the series is over!
I LOVE a best friend’s brother/sister with a MATURE best friend. I loved that Sab was secretly all for Maddox and Ruby getting together. OH & not just best friend’s brother - but ITS ALWAYS BEEN YOU WITH NO CHEATING 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼 We love to see it.
I even didn’t hate Joel’s character fully. Once we saw his development at the end, i felt like he was redeemable too.
The spice was top tier too! it didn’t feel cringy and wasn’t over the top or unrealistic imo!
Absolutely 10/10 recommend this one being read within the series or by itself! def pick it up! I will absolutely be diving deeper into to this author now too!

Very cute, mutual pining, friends to lovers, best friend’s brother romance! DL did a great job tying in other stories from this series, while still keeping this a good stand-alone. Lots of good Christmas-y vibes. Similar to other books in those series- I wanted the story to be a little longer, but it’s a good, cute, simple read!

Best Christmas Romance novel I've ever read.
D.L. Gallie's The Christmas Ornament sleighed it!
Magic, snow, romance and an actual deer!
Maddox and Ruby! What an amazing story, Second chance, small town romance at it finest! Literally had me swooning all the way through, it's sweet, emotional, and filthy, and they all mesh together beautifully!
This will definitely be a book I'm going to revisit every Christmas season.
A MUST READ FOR ALL.

This is a second-chance romance that is a fun read for the holidays. It is funny and centres around a magical Christmas ornament that allows you to see your true love.
Ruby and Sabrina have been best friends since childhood. They got along so well that they even joked that Ruby should marry Sabrina's brother, Maddox, so that they could be sisters. But did Ruby and Maddox have a secret they never told Sabrina?
As Ruby prepares to marry her fiancé, doubt looms over her. His recent strange behaviour has cast a shadow over the impending wedding, leaving her with unsettling questions.
Maddox returns to his old small town to take up his dream job as the local sheriff. He also discovers that his childhood secret fling, Ruby, is about to marry. Should he tell her that he never got over her?
The Christmas Ornament is a fun, well-written read with some exciting characters.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:

Evergreen Lake is the destination Christmas spot this year with all the amazing cozy Hallmark-ish books coming out with this series. The Christmas Ornament connects the previous books in a way that feels so natural and it brings it together nicely. I also enjoyed the mention of some of the other authors from the Evergreen Lake series, very cute for Ruby to be interested in those authors.
Maddox and Ruby finding each other again with a little help of a Christmas ornament, some holiday magic and Sab was very cute. I enjoyed every bit of this book, but I will say the only downside I thought was that I felt like the proposal happened really quickly. I get they've been in love with each other for years and years, but that could have been what happened in the epilogue, or added a few more chapters between when she got her closure and the proposal. But other than that, great read, definitely recommend. 4/5⭐

Another cute and fun holiday novella in the Evergreen Lake series! Ruby and Maddox have history, and Maddox is back in town as the sheriff, and Ruby is engaged to another man. Feelings between them never went away and she was the one who got away from Maddox. Ruby's fiance isn't the greatest and now they're both having a hard time fighting their feelings. Their story is full of emotions, steamy, spicy, and some humor... and a deer named Murray! This is a definite must read for your holiday season!

I am such a sucker for a small town, best friends beother, second chance romance and throw in a sprinkle of Christmas magic and you have this amazing festive love story. Mad and Ruby are just so good together and even though Ruby was in a relationship, I love that they never once cheated, which makes me happy. If you want a light cheerful read with quite a few laughs then this is definitely the book for you.

What do 2 childhood girl-friends, an ornament, a large and unrelenting deer, skinny dipping in December and Christmas magic have in common? They lead to a bride being left at her wedding. Well, kind of. Ruby, and her ever present red-nose has been best friends with Sabrina since they were kids. Almost as long as Ruby has had a crush on her best friend’s brother, Maddox. Then one Christmas when Ruby is 19 and Sabrina is passed out from too much mulled wine sparks finally ignite between these star-crossed lovers. Only for Maddox to pull away and Ruby to then wander into the arms of Joel. Strait laced, square, bland Joel. Ruby is finally happy again after her split from Maddox….until she’s not. And it appears fate, and an ill-time deer crossing brings Sheriff Maddox back to Evergreen Lake…and Ruby.
This second chance Christmas romance was a perfect addition to this series and I seriously cannot wait to finish all of the books.
