Very short book, but with a lot deep thought and insight. Toni Morrison writes which makes you reflect into the deeper meaning of a sentence. This story of racism and finding oneself, while dealing with a society that sees or does not see who you really are. Sorry, this doesn't really make sense, but worth a read.

If anyone could tell me what really happened at the end to Cee I would really appreciate it. She doesn't just come out and say it from what I read.

I liked the switching narratives i just wish it had continued to the end of the book, i liked the mix of less emotional third person narratives and more emotional first person sections

Not a bad book, but I didn't see a compelling reason for it to be written. If this was a debut book, I would maybe have liked it more - but it certainly won't stick with me like beloved or the bluest eye did. To me it seemed like she was writing this just to write.
