It had been ages since I read the first book, but this fell super flat for me. I remember really enjoying the first book, but this was just really annoying to read almost. There was basically a miscommunication breakdown between the characters and minimal advancement of the actual plot. Not a big fan of this one.

I loved this book regardless of its small plot. This was the book where they figured out their feelings for one another so there isn’t a huge amount of things happening. Just a lot of feelings. But I understand why with how it set up what’s going to happen in the future. I love the angst and slow burn of Poppy and Cas’s relationship. The author made a way to make angst and slow burn while also making it spicey and fun. That’s pure talent! I think the way it ended I am just going to jump right into the next one instead of reading a palette cleanser!!

The sequel, in my opinion is better than the first, though I do feel like some situations and reactions were getting repetitive.

I'll update once I've had sometime to think about the series so far...

Also side note wtf is up with them fucking on a battle field RIGHT after a battle......seems familiar....looking at you Feyre and Rhysand.
