Selected at random, this turned out to be quite fascinating. Keller's takes on literature and how she enjoys it are really interesting.

Before receiving this recommendation, the most I recalled of Helen Keller were the basics: blind and deaf girl who learned to read through her teacher. But, The Story of My Life displays how much more of value there is in Keller's story than the rudimentary facts of being a historical celebrity.
Keller's writing is full of moving literary illustrations and insightful observations that provoke the reader to reflect. In addition to her writing skills, her journey of learning to communicate is so amazing, too, more so than I was able to grasp in elementary school. I so enjoyed spending time with Keller as she narrated the many formative seasons of her life.

Dutch Blitz inspired me to read this bc Asian people (especially Asian mothers) love Hellen Keller. And after reading this I get it she was badass. Her very objective recollection of her emotional outbursts as a child struggling to communicate with the world, her experience learning more abstract concepts without two major senses, and her curiosity as she continued to be a disability advocate and achieving higher education. Honestly she sounds cool and I would hang out with her.
Poor Hellen and the plagiarism accusation really broke my heart she was so crushed and she was so confused. She truly was too smart for her own good. She is the Asian Parents dream and I respect her a lot. Think this autobiography could have been fleshed out a little better but also it was like 1900 and she couldn’t see or hear so i’ll cut her some slack.

I expected to be inspired, but I didn’t know I’d be sooo inspired by Helen’s story.
Definitely have a new outlook on life now.
