I was really interested to read this. I knew nothing about Hellen Keller. Ya know, other than the fact the she was deaf and blind.
It was interesting. I especially enjoyed the first half of the book, when she tells about growing up and her education. The second half was good too.... but I've got to admit, it didn't quite grab me as much. She talked a lot of books and poems that she liked and people that she had met. Had I lived in the same period, it probably would have interested me a bit more.
Helen Keller certainly did a lot throughout her life, despite the challenges she faced.

I'd love to learn more about her.... but I think in the future I'd opt for a biography. Something a little less flowery. But, really, this was a good book. I'm glad I read it.
2.89 stars. Maybe that's too harsh. It was good. It was just the end that dragged.....

Also, I'd love to read about her teacher, Ms. Sullivan. She sounds amazing! And so giving.

Inspiring. And I learned a lot about Helen Keller, I never realized her family was so well connected.

What a wonderful look at the early life of someone many of us only know a little about. I learned so much about Helen and she was an amazing author. Everyone should read this book.

I think this could be interesting, Helen Keller's story is interesting, but I only listened (Librivox audio recording) to a few chapters and was bored.

Helen Keller‘s story is so fascinating and impressive. I loved learning all the details about her education. The edition I read also I closed her letters as well as an account of the story from the point of view of her teacher. So while it was super interesting it did get a little bit repetitive. Nevertheless, a very impactful story.
