When I started and finished the Percy Jackson series, it was around when talk of The Lost Hero was going around a few months before it was published. I dismissed it not believing Rick Riordan could pull me in once more and my interest in the Roman aspects of the Gods was low. I lean more into the Greek simply because I’ve studied more into them and Persephone’s tale is one I hold dear to my heart.

Anyway, I am getting off track on trying to convince you that if you were a fan of Percy’s adventures with Annabeth and Grover, that you need to find a copy of The Lost Hero as quickly as possible.

The story picks up not too long after the Titan War, but we meet our new heroes (Jason, Piper, and Leo) on a class trip. Something is strange as Jason cannot remember who he is and why he is even there, but Piper and Leo try to explain to him otherwise that he belongs there very much when sharing all that has happened to them starting the semester together at a school for troubled kids. Everyone seems to believe he belongs, expect for Coach Hedge who is giving him a weird look, but says nothing at all about it.

All takes a turn when they are on the skywalk above the Grand Canyon, Dylan showing his true colors that sparks off who Jason, Piper, Leo, and Coach Hedge really are. Annabeth appears and they make the travel to Camp Half-Blood (with some trouble) where we learn that Percy has disappeared without much of a word. There is also new trouble brewing and it deals with a new prophecy from Rachel.

I will not say much more as I hate to spoil too much for those who are drooling at the all this. Pick it up and give it a chance because I regret not doing it so sooner.
