Thank you to I.V. Marie and HarperCollins UK Audio / Electric Monkey for giving me access to this book in exchange for an honest review.
Immortal Consequences was one of my most anticipated reads this year, and oh my GOD, it did not disappoint. For a debut, this is an absolute powerhouse! A complex, layered plot that keeps you hooked, and a cast so vividly drawn and larger-than-life you can’t help but be obsessed. Every twist, every interaction crackles with intensity. This isn’t just a story you read, it’s one you devour, breathe in, and get totally lost in. I’m still reeling from how good this was.
Graphic: Death, Gore, Sexual content, Torture, Violence
Moderate: Blood
Minor: Alcohol
The story blends intense supernatural drama with deeply personal character arcs, offering both high-octane action and moments of emotional depth

“Find me. Wherever you are, wherever we end up, don’t stop looking for me.”
From the moment I started reading this book I knew it was going to become a 5 star read. I simply knew it. And I wasn’t wrong. If there’s something a book MUST have for me to give it a 5 star rating is a good ensemble of characters. Found family trope? Absolute perfection in every sense of the word.
There is something else about this book that absolutely blew my mind and it is the ending. What even!! I couldn’t have guessed that was the direction we were heading for at the beginning. I knew something would be up since we were focusing on a large group of characters and the competition promises “one single winner”, so I was expecting some kind of THG poisonous berries act. I won’t say much about it, but it was brilliantly executed by the author.
As for the characters, all six of them were a delight to read. I would’ve loved to have read more of their backstory, but I understand that is something the characters themselves are not keen on discussing, so it makes sense that us as readers are somewhat kept in the dark. I’m sure next book will bring some of their stories to light.
Hurts to say but this book is what ‘Phantasma’ promised to be. Deadly trials, rivals to lovers, afterlife… yeah, this book delivered.
