For some reason I thought this was gonna be like divergent but better written and more interesting and I was sooooo wrong lmao
it's at 4.21 stars and like I cannot understand it. it's kind of boring, slow, super bleak. it was a struggle to finish it.

it was the pacing for me. It halted my full enjoyment of the book and made me want more in a more negative way. However, I really enjoyed the middle part of the book more than I did the beginning in the end. I think Butler does a great job of orchestrating a world, but again, the pacing was not for me.

filled me with dread :) very unsettling.

a bit slow at times, and the earthseed religion lost me a bit, but overall really well done and worth a read.
