This was a quick read that puzzles over some pretty universal things - what part does death play in life, and how can we make peace with death? Death/Laila Starr had her journey, as did Darius, the human who was fated to invent immortality. The art had a dreamy, almost unfinished feel, which entirely fit the story.

This series is possibly the best graphic novel I have ever read. If you enjoy graphic novels and art which concerns itself with the inevitability of death, then you owe it to yourself to read this.

Loved everything. Definitely made me crazy emotional.
Also the colors !!!!! How did they do it???? Each page felt like it was lit from the inside the colors were so popping and beautiful and omg I just wanted to drown myself into the pages.
