Marbles is A graphic novel memoir about living with and treating bi-polar disorder. The book is honest and blunt with humor woven throughout. And it contains some cartoon nudity! *gasp*

I recommend this to fans of memoirs in the form of graphic "novels".

A look at what being bipolar meant especially if you’re in a creative field. Was being bipolar the reason Ellen was an artist? What if she took meds? Will she stop producing art? Is there a relationship between the two? Were there artists that suffered from the same diagnoses?

Great stuff. A memoir about mental illness. Written graphic novel style. And it's funny.

Just so, so brilliant. I read this in one sitting. Forney's exapserated transparency and me-in-all-my-glory style drawings come together deliciously for an intimate, self-aware and reflective graphic novel on her life as a person with bipolar disorder.

I marked this as 3 stars even though I didn't really like it, because it was well written and cute, it just wasn't my thing. It felt like a lot of the same stuff about bi-polar disorder that I've heard over and over again.

I really liked the way she laid out everything, it was well written and had a lot of good information in it about bipolar, but was obviously still her story. I'm not even one for comics or graphic novels, pretty much ever, but it was really well done.
