What. In the WORLD. I LOVED this book! First off it is a sequel, and second ITS A SEQUEL it broke the trope of the sequel is never as good as the original it SURPASSED it. Oh my gosh. It was a straight forward continuation of the story!

The only thing that I didn't like about this book is that it took a lot of liberties with the timeline.

Love and War by Melissa de la Cruz sees the young Hamilton family settle down.

Will the Hamilton’s marriage survive?

Eliza Schuyler Hamilton
Eliza loves her husband and family even though she would like to have her own place with her husband one day. Not only that, but she would like to start a family one day. Things don’t always work out how we want them to, and Eliza is trying her best to support her husband. I still like Eliza, especially after she gets to New York City with her husband and they start their married life together. Eliza is trying her best to get the house settled and everything up and going, even if it’s more complicated than she thought.

Alex Hamilton
Alex is still very much a patriot, even if he is sitting behind a desk, but he wants to see battle, so he has a story to tell his future kids one day. I understand his need. Alex has a good soul and wants to see justice done, which is why he probably went the way of a lawyer once the war was over. He is also a proud man who wants to get things done and pay for things with money that he has earned, which isn’t from family, even though they mean well. I still like Alex and hope he realizes how lucky he is.

The Romance

Eliza and Alex’s love story is very much still going on in these books, and they are a cute couple, even though they both have strong personalities. The two of them are still learning about each other and how they can work together now that they live independently. I still love these two and can’t wait to see how the love story ends.

Five Stars
Love and War by Melissa de la Cruz gives us an insight into life in the early days of America. I am giving five stars to Love and War by Melissa de la Cruz and recommending it to anyone fascinated by American history. Sure, Ms. Cruz changes and adds things to fit how she wants the story to go, which is fabulous. I still love the story, even if it isn’t historically accurate.

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed this review of Love and War by Melissa de la Cruz.

Their story continues. The now-married couple is kept apart by the Revolutionary War, both of them working towards ending it on their own fields.

Alex and Eliza learning that working and living through the hard parts of a marriage can make your relationship ten times as strong. Even with a lot of road bumps in the way.
