They were having sex in the first chapter and again by chapter 5, I didn't like how egotistical he sounded and some of the things he said just gave me the ick.

This was my fault. I shouldn’t read books that are pure fantasy. This book probably wasn’t for me, yet I somehow still finished it.
This book leans into literally every cliche possible: rich, handsome “not looking for the one” male lead, the sweet innocent, “not like other girls” female lead, the sex that just works perfectly from day 1, etc.
All that would be fine, but trying to say the female lead is also a once in a generation process improvement specialist is where this truly fell apart. If this was going to even be a semi-realistic fantasy, don’t have her explain her basic as fuck ideas because that’s where the stupid really starts to show.

Wooooweeee. This was an epic story between playboy billionaire Macon Spade and struggling student Brooklyn. They have explosive chemistry from the beginning and there is something about their connection that makes the serial playboy want to change his ways.
Marni Mann knows how to write a compelling story between characters that would never likely end up together. Macon is persistent in his pursuit of Brooklyn; she is just as persistent in keeping him at arms length.
Audiobook review:
The male narrator, Tor Thom, had moments where I felt that he sounded bored. It made it difficult to feel connected to the story with those sections. I did not feel that the narrator chosen fit the 27-year-old character.
The female narrator, Savannah, nailed it.
