Consistently surprising, creative, and (pardon the pun) rooted in its setting without being restricted by it, “North Woods” is a series of rich excursions. Rarely is an anthology-esque narrative able to maintain such a sense of wonder that the regret of a good story ending is equally balanced by the anticipation for what the next has in store.

Oh, and the ghosts! LOVE the ghosts.
