A small town second chance enemies to lovers story. Maggie and Grady’s story will suck you in with some angst and twists. I enjoyed their banter and sizzling chemistry. I enjoyed their journey as things start to unravel. An entertaining and great story.
This was my first book by [a:W. Million|22112968|W. Million|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1645588272p2/22112968.jpg], and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. Enemies-to-lovers usually gives me emotional whiplash—especially when the “enemy” part is built on lies (by omission)—but this one worked better than I expected.
Yes, Maggie and Trent lied. They shouldn’t have. But Grady wasn’t exactly a model of maturity either. The way he stormed back into town with a chip on his shoulder and a serious attitude problem didn’t do him any favors. I found myself saying “Just tell him the truth!” out loud several times. It was one of those situations where the drama could’ve been cut in half with one honest conversation—but then again, where’s the fun in that? And once Grady finally caught up with his own emotions, he turned into the kind of guy who makes romance readers melt.
Maggie held her own, and I appreciated that she didn’t just roll over and let it go instantly. Their chemistry felt real, and the ending was perfect.
If you like small-town drama, second chances, and a hero who eventually redeems himself, this is worth picking up.

This was my first read by the author and I quite enjoyed it. I loved the fun little small town, the story was entertaining and the writing was top notch.
Maggie is the pharmacist in town and also the mayor. Grady is back in town after years away and he is determined to cause some trouble, starting with running against Maggie for mayor! Maggie used to date Grady’s brother Trent, but she always had a special pull towards Grady. But when Trent gets himself in trouble, everything changes.
I enjoyed their banter back and forth and their enemies to lovers relationship. As much as Grady would say he doesn’t like Maggie, he sure went out of his way to help her. All of the chaos that came with running for mayor had me laughing but also so invested in the story!
The audiobook was narrated by Corvin King & Charlotte North. Both did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. Their pacing was flawless and their chemistry balanced each other.

This was a great listen. We have a bit of a miscommunication due to a secret. The rivalry between the FMC and MMC was exciting and kept me engaged and entertained. I definitely recommend this story. I love Corvin King voice and I was so excited when I saw he was the male narrator. Charlotte North and Corvin King did an amazing job narrating this story.

Okayyy!!! this audiobook had me in my feels 😭💕
You know that kind of story where two people have all this history and unresolved tension that practically sizzles through every scene? That’s Rival Hearts in a nutshell.
Grady is the brooding musician with a past. Maggie is the tough, smart mayor with a broken heart she doesn’t show anyone. Put them back in the same town, add a mayoral race and years of baggage = FIRE 🔥
I loved how real and layered their relationship felt. It wasn’t just banter and chemistry (although yes, there’s plenty of that 😏), but also deep emotional stakes. Wendy Million really gets how to write flawed, lovable characters.
🎧 As for the narration—Charlotte North nailed Maggie’s strength and vulnerability, and Corvin King’s voice? Literally melted me. Their voices together? Instant spark.

Maggie Sullivan and Grady Castillo story
My little brother’s girlfriend was always supposed to be mine.
💕
Grady and Maggie are former friends.. after what went down it’s anyone guess about the real reason as they seem to have some kind of chemistry despite their I hate you vibes.
💕
Maggie was Grady’s brother dinner guest whom he had kissed.. but afterwards everything went downhill, Grady left but not before the damage was done .. the singer poured every heartache into his songs while Maggie was busy with being the Mayor and seemingly happy moving on until Grady returned and now he is challenging her in the election bid for Mayor.
Let The Rivalry begin!
💕
This audiobook story was written by author new to me and wonderfully narrated by talented narrators who were also a first time listen for me of their work.
They both however portrayed the characters well and made the story more interesting than it is with their perfect pitch and their overall style of storytelling Corbin King and Charlotte North did an exceptionally good job.
Recommend to those who love a angsty enemies to lover that may or may not frustrate you but will entertain you with the Characters Rivalry!

A famous musician, coming back to the small town he grew up in and now he has to face the one woman who turned his world upside down years ago. Grady’s first hit album was about her betrayal, so why not shout it out to the world. Maggie’s the mayor now and doing what she can to atone for her mistakes in the past. So, of course just to spite her, Grady throws his hat in the ring as her opponent. This starts out their rocky path of from enemies to lovers. Grady has some growing up to do, to get out of his resentment and hatred from so many years ago. And Maggie, as well, has her own hurdles she must traverse. Perceptions are altered and secrets revealed that bring things to light that has both of them scrambling on uneven ground. And I really enjoyed experiencing their journey individually and together. I thought Million’s storytelling has depth with how she writes the growth these two have to go through to get to their happily ever after. And, oh boy, the groveling Grady does at the end had me all up in my feelings.
Rivel Hearts is narrated by Charlotte North & Corvin King. Charlotte’s portrayal drew me in with how she represented Maggie and her struggle with wanting Grady but being conflicted about their history. Her performance had me in tears. Corvin really brought the emotional angst to Grady’s character, sounding so soulful which brought substance to his performance. I really felt Grady’s feelings. There’s an aspect to Corvin’s voice that has a bit of low register creakiness to it, which, in some places, added to Grady’s soulfulness. Yet in other parts was a bit distracting, almost like a vocal fry element. All in all, I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers romance.

Audiobook Review:
My first book by W. Millon was absolutely delightful. I definitely plan on visiting the rest of her catalog because I enjoyed Rival Hearts so much.
Maggie and Grady come across as complex individuals that have a secretive past with one another, so when he returns home to their small town after 10 years of being away, sparks fly between them, but not necessarily in a good way.
He's harboring unfair negative emotions towards her, and she's still hurt by how he left her all those years ago. They really dug into the enemies part of their relationship and the narrators, Corvin King & Charlotte North did an incredible job bringing their witty banter and verbal foreplay to life.
When secrets and truths are revealed, and Maggie & Grady slowly start finding their way back together, tragedy strikes, Grady gets a job offer in LA, far away from their title small town, and it seems if all hope is lost at a happily ever after.
When Grady proves to be the man Maggie always thought he was, your faith in second chances will be renewed. And now I must go see if Trent gets his second chance and HEA.

Charlotte North and Corvin King were the absolute perfect casting for this book. They did such an amazing job at bringing not only Maggie and Grady to life but also all the side characters. Their narration honestly made me like the story even more than I did when I read it last year when it first came out. I would also like to point out that Charlotte has one of the best male voices I've heard so far.
Grady and Maggie have a complicated history filled with secrets and heartbreak. After years of not seeing each other, they find themselves rivals for the position of mayor of the small town where they both grew up. During the electoral race, Maggie and Grady realize that the connection they have is far greater than anything that happened in the past to drive them apart.
One of the things I really loved about this story was the level of loyalty in Maggie and Trent's friendship, even with Trent being Grady's brother. I also enjoyed how the author showed us how one bad assumption can destroy the strongest of friendships, and how the path to forgiveness is not always an easy one.
Quote: “You protected my heart, even when I didn’t deserve it, and I haven’t been able to do the same for you. I want to, though. I want to spend hours, days, weeks, years tending to your heart.”

Corvin King and Charlotte North’s wonderful narration brought this heart wrenching small town romance to life. Grady and Maggie’s second chance enemies to lovers tale felt like a three car pileup of emotions. It was packed full of miscommunication and misunderstandings and at times so frustrating I wanted to reach in and shake some sense into them both. There were parts of the story that hit close to home and had me reaching for a box of Kleenex.
