I’d been hearing so much buzz about Geneva Rose’s Filthy Rich series, especially from fellow book lovers, and I honestly don’t know why I waited so long to dive in. The moment I started the first book, I was pulled right in. It opens on what seems like an ordinary day in the life of a nurse, but that calm quickly unravels, revealing something much more layered and mysterious. Before I knew it, I was completely immersed—trying to untangle what was real, what was hidden, and what was part of the elaborate world Geneva has created.
What I loved most was how seamlessly the story blends the gritty reality of New Orleans with the rich, secretive supernatural underworld. There’s everything you want in a Fae-centered story: trickery, deception, secrets, and a slow unraveling of truths that kept me turning the pages. The layers in this book are so well-crafted—just when you think you’ve figured something out, another twist pulls you deeper. It’s one of those reads that keeps you thinking even after you’ve finished. I’m beyond glad I already have book two queued up because I’m absolutely ready to keep going!

This book was an interesting mix of mafia and fantasy romance. I would say it skews more towards fantasy romance once the fae are revealed. It was an easy to follow story with some predictable plot points. Ones that I enjoyed nonetheless. There are many conflict points introduced that could intrigue someone to continue the series. I just wasn’t particularly attached to the story or characters.

The plot was barely there and lacked originality (copycat ACOTAR). The characters and romance were bland and lacked substance. But it was entertaining in a poorly written, cringey way.
Moderate: Death, Gun violence, Sexual content, Murder
Minor: Drug use, Rape, Kidnapping, Death of parent, War
A friend recommended this book and it was not for me. I didn’t like Cate. She felt irritating to me. What bothered me the most was the MMC. I couldn’t tell you anything about him besides the fact that he’s physically attractive. He had no personality whatsoever.
Hard to keep going. Not really my kind of read... im not sure if could even tell you what happened...
