This is an urban fantasy set in New Orleans about a nurse who makes a bargain with—you guessed it, a filthy rich fae 🤣.
This was a fun, quick, spicy romantasy.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt that the cliffhanger ending worked very well.
And good news! Book 2 is already out! Woohoo!
2.5 stars. The female lead is kind of insufferable and annoying in my opinion and there really wasn't as much driving force behind the characters as there was in the vampire series but the story picked up in the last 5 or 6 chapters but those 5 or 6 chapters were what I wanted from the book as a whole.

This is a mafia romance but add a touch of the world of the fae. I didn’t realize this series was a sequel/spinoff to her Filthy Rich Vampires series and I haven’t read any of that. It’s possible that there is greater context story I missed. It’s a story set in New Orleans which is a favorite city of mine. Ultimately this was too much of a mafia story for me which is not my jam. If I were reading this for myself I would’ve DNFed as it’s just not for me. The modern gunplay kept bringing me out of the fantasy of it. I also didn’t feel the chemistry between the main characters and some of the decisions of theirs made no sense to me. That being said, the flirt/tease/sex things were mostly well done.
I just can’t with the crazy thought processes. The narrator is good, but I can ignore wonky dialogue better if I’m reading rather than listening.
Waaaaaaah, I just realized that this is book 1 and I have NO idea when book 2 will be released. Cruel cliffhanger .
