Thoroughly enjoyed every second of this book. Left me gripping the edge of my seat with anticipation. Every time I thought I knew what would happen next I was surprised. The slow burn was agonizing but I was pleased with the spice that did happen. Mad I have to wait for the second book until next year
I don’t know why I had 0 expectations for this book. I saw it was free with Prime reading, and basically said “why not?” MORE LIKE WHY YES??!! The slowburn was sooo good. Somehow, this book was exactly what I was looking for, and now, all I think about is Lachlan Gage.
Filthy Rich Fae by Geneva Lee was not half bad. The beginning had some rough dialogue and a few of those classic “yikes” lines that made me roll my eyes, but it got better as it went on.
The banter and tension between Lachlan and Cate? So good. Easily the best part of the book. They had that electric enemies-to-lovers vibe — constant snark, stolen moments, and just the right amount of heat to keep things interesting.
Plot-wise, there’s a hidden fae realm, dangerous court politics, and a looming power struggle that threatens to explode. Cate gets pulled into it all after an intense run-in with Lachlan, a powerful and broody fae heir who’s clearly hiding more than he lets on. There’s betrayal, secrets, and magic — it’s got all the right pieces, but I wish the plot had a bit more weight behind it. A lot of the tension was character-driven, which was great, but the actual storyline could’ve used more depth.
Still, it’s a fast, fun read if you’re looking for something with magic, heat, and sharp dialogue. Solid 3 stars.

This was a good book. Definitely a slow burn to me but once the spice hits they stay at it. lol. I devoured the last 150 in no time. Definitely continuing this series and on a hunt for more by this author.

Liked the premise of a Trauma ER RN being pulled into a fantastically horrifying world and enjoyed the plot up until the "climax" so to speak.
I feel like every time a main character in an urban fantasy romance, or really any smutty romance, gets with her ML, they're immediately encountering trouble. I guess that's the draw of smutty fantasy though - predictable writing. Speaking of which, the writing kind of fell to the wayside after the meh written smut.
I cannot fathom why someone who has gone through the foster system, straightened out her life, and then became an RN has the poorest survival skills. For the plot, I guess.

I enjoyed the book a lot! It's fun reading about the fae and other creatures in the modern world.
I was all for Lachlan from page one. *what is wrong with me! I enjoyed the enemies to lovers, bickering, sarcastic banter with bargains being made and throw in forced proximity... damn, I was all for it! As much as I wanted his pov, I loved not knowing what was going on with him. I felt that sweet tension and craved it.
Stupid cliffhanger! UGH. On to book 2!
