"You've all got weapons, every man jack of you. [...] You could have done something. You could have done anything! You could have done everything. But you didn't. [...] Just remember, that's all. Remember, for next time."

Snuff was just about a perfect conclusion to the series. The books have gone from parody police procedural to actual police procedural to philosophical musing on the role and relationship between the police, the law, the civil authority, and right and wrong. It's not a perfect book (unlike Night Watch) but there's the same core of cynicism paired with a dogged determination to make the world right that made me love that book so much.

Classic Pratchett, i.e., smart and fun and hard to put down.

One of the darker Discworld novels, this still made me smile and brought light to my lock down. I'm so grateful that I decided not to read the last few books until I needed them. STP was a master at spinning words into beautiful, insightful and humourously delightful stories. He is sorely missed.
I thoroughly enjoyed this, Vimes is one of my favourite characters, and I was sad to finish it. Just ice is a dish best served cold.

If you haven't read Terry Pratchett by now, I don't know what is wrong with you! This is his 39th DiscWorld book and 8th in the Night Watch books. His health and mine are failing but he was still writing well in this book. Sam Vines is one of my many favorite characters and this book is almost all about him. He seems to be a great humanist with a very broad definition of human.

Is Terry Pratchett a good comedy writer? Yup. Will I read any other book? Probably not. Why? Because reasons (mainly the difficulty with wich I read this book because it hasn't heard of chapters)

I have trouble believing that Terry Pratchett actually wrote this book. Characterizations are very cardboardy. Simply isn't as well organized.
