Solid Soul by Brenda jackson
Tiffany Hagan and her friend Marcus Steele agree that their parents would make a great pair and would get them off their backs.
Problem is Mr. Steele has confronted Tiff's mother at the florist shop where she works telling her that she has to keep her daughter away from his son.
Quite the tale of how the kids attempt to get the parents to even talk, like one another while they go on with their relationship.

The writing style didn't engage me overmuch but I liked the story.

Kylie got a bit on my nerves with her overprotectiveness and being super secretive about her feelings for Chance, but I enjoyed the story.

What a fun and cute story! It’s definitely has parent trap vibes and those kids are for sure tricksters lol and Chance?!?! He for sure knows what he wants and goes after it without hesitation and with determination… and what he wants is Kylie!

En av de få saker som jag har väldigt svårt för i böcker är upprepningar av samma adjektiv för att beskriva objekt. " han sa ditten sexigt", " Hans arm var sexig". Den här boken innehåller mycket sådant.

I have to admit, I find this pretty conservative for a modern-day romance. Kylie has basically (or completely?) been abstaining from sex since her foray into at 16 years old landed her pregnant. Chance is a widower raising his son, who got married quite young. Their attraction, mostly acknowledged from one side-Chance's-is what tended to irritate. And Kylie rebuffed him so many times that his pursuit of her got irritating for me. (Again, even if there's attraction, there's unacceptable behavior & crossing the line if you are rejected). That points out another way in which I find this a bit too traditional-exclusively the man pursuing the woman, basically. She only accepts and never advances on him. I also understand that their friendship was developing, but don't know where the love came from because more of the book was about the mundane than showing why or how they came to be in love.

Overall, all this considered I found the book to be a bit boring, forgettable, and unremarkable.
