I really liked The Midnight Library, so I wanted to read more from the author. At first, I really liked it, then it got a little odd, then it was kinda bland, then it wrapped up with a little heartwarming. I've never been a fan of alien (scary, silly, or replacing humans) stuff anyway! It's a nice book overall, not my favorite, not bad, I wouldn't own a physical copy and I wouldn't want to see this made into a film/series. I'll definitely read Matt Haig's other books.

If the protagonist had read one more Cosmo article some of the plotlines wouldn't have worked, but the tone of the book is enjoyable and I really enjoyed the reflections on parenthood and humanity.
