A queer cake-read that has a bitter finish. Conceptually fluffy, it's a slice-of-life story about a queer, ace-coded, neurodivergent, partially-deaf protagonist who loves true crime podcasts. The variety of traumas and dysfunctions don't tie into a coherent flow and the discomfort-to-coziness ratio was too skewed towards discomfort for me to enjoy.

I really deeply enjoyed this, and it’s more of a 4.5 . This character felt very relatable even if I couldn’t see myself in her situations. A lot of these thoughts and her mental health struggles felt so incredibly raw. The main character Enid is mostly endearing and while there were definitely moments where I was annoyed, she was easy to empathize with. Excellent book
