This is exactly the kind of book I needed. It was funny and charming, strange and thrilling. A book that made my heart break and ache and then healed it and kissed me on the forehead. I think that Emily Austin’s character work is just perfection, and I must read all of her work now!

I am new to this author and went into this story blind, and that was the move. I love a book about "weird" women, and Enid's story was so endearing and painful and beautiful to read. I also loved getting to see her friends' and family's perspectives on certain events or people -- I always say to my students that perception is reality, for good or bad.
I felt very seen reading many of Enid's thoughts and struggles, and her anxiety became my own in many places. I don't think this book is perfect, but it is one that I know will stay with me. I also greatly appreciate all the representation: toxic families, mental illness, neurodivergence, queer relationships, PTSD, and so on. I can't wait to read more of Austin's work.
Bumping up to a 4.5⭐ for the uniqueness!

A very interesting read. I felt like I was losing my mind with Enid at points trying to understand what was going on.
I am glad Enid ended up with Polly, they seem really adorable together.
I feel like everything wrapped up really suddenly. I thought there would be more to it, but it was really interesting to see how Enid had lost so many memories due to PTSD.

I liked this book. It didn’t really have a similar flow to most novels, which was refreshing. However, it was confusing at times and I wish there was a better resolution to her issues. It felt quick and unclear to me.
