4.5 stars. An off beat and bizarre character study and I loved it. Emily Austin is definitely one of my favorites for a good literary novel with unhinged characters. The writing is snappy and I loved the dark humor. Our main character, Enid is the hottest of hot messes. She’s anxious and paranoid and will spout off facts about space whenever she’s uncomfortable. I loved her so much. She’s also obsessed with true crime and is afraid of bald headed men. I laughed every time her phobia of bald men was brought up because my brother is bald. I’m giggling to myself just writing this out.
