I'll read anything Emily Austin writes honestly. her prose is so unique and her characters are relatable and believable and tell stories about challenges with mental health.

A surprisingly refreshing read. This was so different then anything I've ever done. I didn't even realize it was a mystery until the end. Our main character is unique and being in her mind exploring her past and her quirks was funny and sad. I listened in audiobook, not the best narration but still very engrossing. Her relationships with women and with her family were complex and intriguing. It's hard to explain what this story is about but what I can say is that it grabbed my attention and kept it until the end because of how different it was.
i love emily r austin!!
it's so impressive how she can put you inside a characters head. i felt like i was going through the emotions enid was going through as i was reading the book -bald man phobia and all-
even though the book was character heavy with not much plot it kept me engaged the whole time mostly thanks to austin's witty style.
i will be adding emily r. austin to "authors i would read the shopping lists of" category.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and couldn’t put it down, I found myself constantly wondering what would happen next or shouting don’t do that! Just as Enid might when watching a horror movie. It was weird and wonderful and I love how it explored the difficulties of dealing with new family all the sudden in your grown age and how hard it is to navigate and curb your own anxiousness. As someone who is in the same age range and suddenly has all these new family members after years of secrecy I find myself unsure how to act at times especially as the gay cousin. Everyone is this book was a little quirky and wasn’t that great in of itself.
