Emily Austin has this way of writing characters that are equal parts completely removed from reality and completely relatable. The characters read so vividly and I was rooting for Enid the entire time. Polly was an especially compelling character, and I think she and Enid will stay with me. I love how the story unfolded and seeing the impact it had on Enid. I also loved her budding relationship with her half sisters and “the parasite” conversation.

I didn’t know what this was about going in, but was pleasantly surprised when I realized the main character is neurodivergent. Although I’ve taught myself how not to be anxious, I used to relate to her overthinking in social situations and anxiety about having done something wrong, so I enjoyed the read and getting into Enid’s head. Also appreciate her love of space and spewing facts!
