From a therapist's perspective: this is an incredible and intimate look at someone with complex trauma, and I absolutely loved the disability rep. The layers were so well thought out. I feel so tenderly towards Enid.

Equal parts funny, heart-aching and warm, this is another hit from Emily Austin. Emily writes flawed, damaged, genuine and messily characters in a way I can’t get enough of. Her stories are poignant and so deeply human, whilst also being wonderfully peculiar. Interesting Facts About Space has well and truly solidified Emily Austin as an auto-buy author for me. I loved it.

I read this book COMPULSIVELY - couldn’t put it down over the three nights I read it because of how easy it was to get sucked in!!! Incredible book about your perception of yourself, your past, and for anyone that ever convinces themselves they’re a terrible person. Enjd reminds me of Gilda from the other book of Austin’s I’ve read (Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead) in the tone and voice of the main character and I relate/see myself in them so aggressively. Some of the storyline spooked me/induced major anxiety which might have also been why I couldn’t put it down because I had to get to the bottom of it bUt that just goes to show how hard I jumped head first into it !!!
