I really loved this book! It was warm and cosy. As someone who was a closed gay kid and played Rugby it what I wish I had growing up. The themes were LGBT and blending families but the characters were not the most diverse and there was some plot points that were redundant

Matt Peters is a new to me author. I very much enjoyed this MM sports romance about 2 professional rugby players. Although I’m not a fan of rugby myself, I found the rugby scenes to be engaging without being intimidating. The characters were likeable and there was a good amount of tension to keep the story interesting, some enjoyable spicy scenes and a sweet romantic ending. My only real complaint is that this book needed better proofreading. I can’t wait to read more from this author. 4.5 stars.

Do I understand rugby? Not in the slightest. Did that stop me from devouring this book from beginning to end? Absolutely not. Rhys and Callum had my heart from the very first page and I needed to keep reading to know if they got their HEA. I can't wait for the rest of the series!

This was a really fun book I had a great time reading it. I does need some edits and there are so errors but even with those I enjoyed this book very much. It was very sweet and not too heavy an enjoyable ride.

This was solidly enjoyable. Wasn't amazing but it was definitely a good time. Even though it's really short I got a little bit bored around the 73% ish mark but it quickly picked up in intrigue. My only gripe is that neither Callum nor Rhys have any definable characteristic  beyond gay and under pressure. Neither are funny or sarcastic or loud or shy, etc. I don't know who they are.

There were two times I laughed out loud:

"“I’ll get some goldfish,” I said. “Can’t kill myself if I have goldfish.” Mum looked horrified and I remembered that Gen-Z humour probably wouldn’t land so much with her."  This one killed me! Its so accurate my friends and brother's humor.

And then when Callum comes out to his children the 13 year old Olivia makes a very smart ass comment about how if he has to like men now can he at least find one that can DIY because her bookshelf has been broken for months and she knows that Callum can't fix it. Cracked me up 😂. Its such a 13yo thing to care about.
