While it's not on the Ice Planet, this was still a fun story. I have been putting off reading anything by Ruby Dixon that doesn't take place on Not-Hoth for the longest time. However, this was just as fun and entertaining as my favorite barbarians are.
I only wish it was a little longer. I felt like the characters developed really quickly and it felt off at some points.

The cover and blurb gave me very much the wrong impression of this book (specifically that there might be questionable consent). I’m sorry I didn’t trust you Ruby!
Kivian is up there with my favorite romance heroes. He’s so really vain and full of himself, but is also really clever and funny. It works. The heroine is pretty typical (brave, sassy, confident) and I liked her. I usually am pretty luke-warm about the fated-mates trope, but I loved it here because there’s so much flirtation between the main characters before they end up together. The development of the relationship would totally work without that.
I’d definitely read this more than once.

WOOOOO THREE STARS AND NO REGRETS.
Writing...definitely needs some polishing. Weirdly worded sentences, and lots of repetition.
Setting... computers, space ships, hygiene laws... super cool.
Characters.... I fucking love Kiv. Yeah, he gets a tad bit annoying with the whole “mine” spiel every page, but the rest of him is fucking awesome.
✓ Great fashion sense with no regrets about it
✓Funny, witty personality
✓ Considerate
✓ASKS FOR CONSENT WOOOOOOOO.
I was worried when the story started with, “A pirate doesn’t ask for permission.”
Thankfully, I was proven wrong, because he does. Multiple time actually.
Consent. Consent. Consent. You know how easy it would have been for the author to construct a vaguely rapey situation that was somehow validated by the fact that these guys are Aliens and don’t have the same laws as humans?
Super freaking easy. Easy enough that it’s become the norm.
BUT SHE DIDN’T. This man does not let go of his mantra that he won’t touch a women without her consent, AND I FUCKINF LOVE IT. He never pushes her and puts a timeline on how long she has to get with his agenda before he has sex with her, or anything.
Some humans can learn a thing or two from these Alien pirates.
THREE STARS JUST FROM KIV!
