A haunting story of a child growing up surrounded by unhealthy love. The absurdness and wrongness mixed with the sweetness and righteousness in the book is not only addicting to read, but also heartbreaking watching it happen through the eyes of the child. The portrayal of the psychology of the characters was unique in their own way, carrying the reader with them until the end.

No olipahan makaaberi tarina! Jos haluaa tarttua ns. hyvän mielen kirjaan tai perinteiseen dekkariin, tämä ei ole oikea valinta. Mutta jos haluaa käsiinsä kirjan, jonka ahmii loppuun yhdeltä istumalta, suosittelen tätä. Hitaan piinaavaa psykologista jännitystä ja kaikkea tosi sairasta ja kummalllista. Periaatteessa tämä voisi olla ahdistavaa luettavaa, mutta kiehtoi minua. Lukiessani muistin Ian McEwanin Sementtipuutarhan, josta myös pidän. Rielin nimi täytyy painaa mieleen.

3.5 stars! Very disturbing and dark. The story follows Liv and her family living on an isolated island away from the community as the family descends into madness and the hoarding father knows no limits in order to protect their isolation. He convinces Liv that it is best that the community thinks she is dead. Very very dark but I could not put it down.
