Very interesting to read a book of short stories by a non Western author, as the tone, pacing, style is so very different. Little snippets of small town life, each with a small burst of irony or comedy or tragedy. An interesting read, definitely agree with Jhumpa Lahiri that one story a day for a month is a good way to read this one.

Some of these appeared in another short story collection I read a couple of years ago. I enjoyed rereading those as much as the new ones.

“life is about making right things and going on..”

Enchanting stories about everyday, ordinary events and people, set in the fictional town of Malgudi.
