The Tiger who came to Tea
This is a cute children’s picture book about a young girl who is having tea with her mother when there is a knock at the door. All of a sudden a tiger enters and joins them and ends up eating all of the food in the house!

I heard this was a famous/classic picture book, but couldn't find it in print at my library. We were able to download the short audio book and listen to it today. It was a fun story about a tiger who shows up for tea and eats all the food in the house. My 6 and 8 year old enjoyed it.

Such a silly book to read during my lunch break. :)) It's one of the best selling children's books ever and I can see why. Kids aged 2-5 will be smitten.

Charming artwork and writing, but no one acted particularly upset at the tiger after it consumed all the food and drink. I expected the mother to at least be annoyed.

A sweeet lovely book for children. My niece is enjoying it very much with daily repeated reads. Even I (much grown-up) loved the sweet innocent story. The illustrations are very very nice.

I will admit I have never had a tiger come to tea.
Especially such a gentlemanly, refined beast as is in this book.
I wonder if he'd like banana bread? I make fantastic banana bread!

But to sum it up it's a fun story of a girl & her mum and having a tiger over for a spot of something delicious!
Important Info: if you do have a tiger for tea, make sure those shelves are stocked!

Oh, and never let anyone tell you that you're too old to read picture books, you don't need that kind of negativity in your life!

I find myself wondering about this book a lot. Why did the tiger come to tea? Where did he come from? Where did he go? Why did he never come back again?
Is the tiger a metaphor for some larger message the author wants to convey: Jesus, society at large, a teenage brother with a huge appetite... Who knows.
But I do know that my son loves this book and we read it multiple times per day. And that will have to be enough for me - for now...

This is one of the first books I read and I loved it!

I recently became a father myself and this is the first book I bought my son, he loves it too. The drawings are beautiful and children love the simple story

A parent can't go wrong buying this classic childrens book
