This was not as good as Kelly Moran's other series about those vets. For me, there was far too little plot and far too much drama.

I just finished this book and wow.

Once I got into it, it was a pretty easy read. It’s not too many pages, somewhere between that 150-200 page count depending on the size of the writing I guess.

Certain things in the book, specifically the writing turned me off though. Not anything against the author per say but just things that made me go “uhhh what”. For example, ‘her cornflower eyes’ to be cornflower is white so does she have white eyes? If so is that not a bit creepy and really unusual.

Apart from that the story flowed pretty well, it did feel like some things were happening really fast and without context but that’s kind of a given it being a shorter story length.

An absolutely amazing story!

I was blown away by this story...the author evoked so many emotions from me as I read Nate and Olivia's story. Beautifully tender, sad, funny, and so much more. Nate is irresistible and someone who deserves to find love more than any character I've ever read, yet he doesn't think he deserves anything. Olivia is amazing and so perfect for Nate. I can't wait to read more about them in the next book. I've never read anything else by this author before now, but I plan to change that as quickly as I can find more of her books!

An absolute winner! Kelly created two main characters that I completely fell in love with. I laughed and cried right along with them. As always, even her side characters were engaging and had me rooting for them. I was sad when the book ended because I wasn't ready to give up my connection to Olivia and Nate, as well as the others...I want more! (Reviewed ARC)

Ich weiß nicht, warum ich mir so was immer wieder antue. Wohl die unerfüllt Hoffnung, mal eine gute Romanze zu lesen...aber hey, ich habe schon schlechtere gelesen.

my goodness i’m actually ashamed that it took me this long to finish this book! this is one of the book covers with a real person that i’m not mad about. the hat? the abs? the tats? his height? the ranch and dog in the background? yeah, that’s definitely nate!!! and whoever decided on this cover, did the damn thing!

I have never read a book where so little happens and everything is repeated like 50 times. Our male character has an erection everytime he sees the girl, and calls her baby after meeting her two seconds ago. Our girl character is boring, although male character thinks she is fiery and bold. She gets a wet p*ssy everytime she sees the male, so of course they have rough sex for about five chapters on end.

(I received an ARC for this book)

Olivia Cattenach loses her brother Justin, but he makes sure that Nathan Roldan is there to save her. To save each other. Nate is tough and rugged, but gentle in all the ways Olivia needs him to be. Nate is there to protect her, and that means protecting her from himself. But really, it's Olivia who saves him. Nate is so hellbent on protecting her, he doesn't even realize just how strong she is. How strong he's made her. And he's so stubborn! I just wanted Olivia to whack him over the head, more than once! But he saved her, every time she needed him most. His rough exterior doesn't even stand a chance against the softness of her heart.

My Favorite Quotes:
•"Olivia, baby. Don’t move."
•"Sometimes the hero’s a beast or a frog or an ogre. Maybe I’m not looking for a knight."
•"Little red, you brought the guy to his knees. And he hasn’t gotten back up."
•"I thought your grin was panty-melting, but your laugh singes them to dust."
•"Your mouth is a weapon of mass destruction."
•"I swear to you on my pathetic, empty heart that I will never leave you again."
•'She grinned, and the last remnants of his old life cindered to dust.'
