I want to be Sloan Copeland when I grow up. No seriously, she's one hell of a woman. The love she has for her daughters and the drive that guides her work meet to create a fleshed out character despite the shorter format. The twins, Addison and Avery, keep their mother busy. They are intelligent, compassionate and funny. I appreciate that the children are well written, both have an important part in this story. Watching their relationship with Rafe grow is one of the many highlights of this story. By the end of the book I grew attached to the bond between Addy, Avery and Rafe.

Let's talk about Rafe. I'm madly in love with him. The care he shows the young girls melted my cold dead heart. He is a genuinely kind man with just enough self-awareness. I admire the honesty he demonstrates throughout the journey as well as the impeccable banter he has with Sloan. Rafe's personality perfectly compliments Sloan's. I love their relationship and truly hope we see more of them in the next installments of this series.
