Baby, I'm Howling for You is a fast paced, well told PNR. The author has a gift for phrasing that makes this book a total delight.
Red wolf shifter Renny Landry is on the run. She has been chased from California all the way to the outskirts of Alpha, Washington where she collapses exhausted and wounded on the doorstep of alpha wolf shifter Mick Fischer. Mick is somewhat of a recluse hiding from his pain and his past but he isn’t going to let anything hurt the wolf at his door. What he doesn’t know is that that she wolf is about to shake his world up in the very best of ways. That is if he can keep her alive.
Lust, a bit of manly angst, female guilt, a whole lot of fun from the townsfolk, danger and love make this a terrific read.

I always enjoy Christine Warren’s books - and this did not disappoint. As someone on the ace spectrum - I will say that I was disappointed (in myself) that I got into one of my moods where I ended up skipping a lot of the steamy scenes just because I wasn’t into them at the moment - I’m sure they were good.

Fun and sexy with just enough danger to keep you hooked. Excellent narration.
I love Christine Warren's stories. I love her characters and I love her shifter world. Her "The Others" series is one of my all time favorite paranormal series. So when I saw that she was starting a shifter series, I basically jumped up and down.
This book was set in Alphaville. Which is a town full of all kinds of shifters. They are mostly shifters who are running away from their pack or family or just straight up outcasts. They have formed this town and are a pack among themselves. I personally have not read a book with this.. I have no idea if it's out there or not but how freaking cool is that? I am so so excited for the rest of this series.
Anyways... Renny is our main girl here. She is running away from an insane stalker. She has been running for months. When she ran to human towns, her stalker riled up the human activist and she got pushed from the town. And she wasn't able to stay long enough in a pack for them to trust her. So she runs to Alphaville as a last ditch effort to start a new life. Thats where she meets Mick. She literally runs right to his house. He had a mate that died 8 years before.. I was honestly a little worried about that. But the way Warren wrote it was kind of perfect. Renny wasn't jealous of his ex mate and mick didn't let it keep him away from Renny.. for that long.
I loved this book. I am excited for the next one!

my favorite thing in this book was how I talked about different animals. Because a lot of times and romance books you only get the one werewolf the werewolf love yada yada yada but in this book you got to see you like different types of animals like how batters will make with different mates but it was the human side that stuck with each other for life.
do not get me wrong I absolutely love fated mates. the whole living for your mate. And the thought of like not having said mate like you literally cant survive. I just liked how different animals had different love lives lol.
I liked how it talked about how mates when they died the other night go into like depression and doesn't live long without its mate becuase they love the other so much.
But I liked how in the end it was like Mick was like survived his first mates death because he was surviving for Renny
super cute book

I waffled a bit on rating this one. The premise is really good and the story starts with a pull you in chase scene. My problem was that the story seemed to be almost suspended about halfway through, things were happening, but it wasn't really moving forward. Then, once it does gather some momentum and move forward, it's full speed ahead to the conclusion. What saved it for me was the wonderful cast of characters in this town. In fact, I found many of the secondary characters just as interesting, if not more so, than Renny and Mick. Make no mistake, Renny and Mick are good together and I enjoyed their banter. The dialogue overall was a big plus for me and the author's wit and sarcasm is great. The great characters and witty dialogue won me over and I will be interested to see what's next for this town of quirky shifters.

I don't know why but I am a sucker for stories about small towns in the Pacific Northwest especially when the folks in the town don't quite fit the stereotype of small townsfolk. The inhabitants of Alpha definitely fit that description. Alpha Washington is tale that shifters tell each other, a place where they will fit in.
It's been a few years since I have stumbled across one of Ms Warren's books and I am berating myself for that because her books are just that good. I became immediately engaged with the story as it opens with Renny on the run for her life. And the characters are so real that they just seem to jump off the page. And the dialogue is sharp, and at times had me laughing hard enough that my ribs hurt. This book reminded me why I fell in love with both paranormal romances and romantic suspenses.
I do highly recommend this book to any of my readers who enjoy the paranormal. There is enough suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat and characters that are easy to connect with. And as a bonus, this is the first book in what looks to be a series well worth following.
***I received this book at no charge from NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions expressed within this review are my own.

Strong 3.5
I was so excited to see Christine Warren had a new shifter book as I love The Orhers series. Rent and Mick are a great couple and I sincerely hope there will be more stories in Alphaville.
It could just be the version I read, but it wasn't a full 4stars for me because it was a little too predictable for me and missed a little the tension I was hoping for. Also, the deputy shot in Renny's final abductiin is never mentioned again. I hope it's just me reading an early version and the final book will mention if he survived.
