I feel like I should have enjoyed this book more than I did. I have no real complaints, there were some bright spots, but it just didn't hit for me.

I had higher expectations for this collection of short stories unfortunately 😢 It wasn’t quite as coherent or gripping as I would have liked it to be!

In saying that, I love the complicated and human relationship between Trelawny and Delano. Families, eh 🤷🏻‍♀️

3 out of 5 stars for me, thank you ✨ Content warnings below!

Follows a pair of brothers through their lives.  I couldn't really get into it. I read it for my international challenge  - Jamaica.

The story line was very clever, following each character for a certain number of years and then jumping back, however needed my full concentration to follow. Unfortunately did not have the time to finish this book and had a lot of other library loans to read through before they expired.

The first story is so repetitive (in a "clever" way) it was too annoying to finish. I want to just paw at my ears.
