Two fun but fairly short stories featuring Percy Jackson and set between several of the books in the first series, plus some ancillary material. I enjoyed the original series, but this slim volume is best borrowed from the library, unless you or your child are/is a diehard fan. (I am told, however, that the stories are useful to read before heading into the second series - which is why I read them.)
Read libary copy in 2014; see my review from 9/24/14.

So I probably should have read this a long, long time ago. Considering I've finished the Heroes of Olympus series by now... It sort of explains a lot of things that I missed (mainly, Bob and the dragon who will later become Festus) later on but oh well.
Overall, this wasn't bad. It was nice to read from Percy's POV again, but he wasn't nearly as funny as I remember. Maybe that's just because these are short stories, so they're different from the books. It was also nice to revisit some old characters who aren't really in the second series as much.
Mostly, I just liked the Sword of Hades short story, because, hey, Nico. I'm a Nico fan, so the more Nico stories the better.
I don't think it is necessary to read this book to finish the Percy Jackson series or the Heroes of Olympus series, but it is insightful and it does explain a few minor things. Mostly though, it's just fun revisiting these characters and this world.

Short stories of Percy's adventures that take place between the 4th & 5th books.
*sigh* I love Percy Jackson & I miss it so much & I seriously can't wait for The Son of Neptune.
The Demigod Files is a sweet companion for those Percy lovers who want either exclusive interviews with the characters, never read adventures & just a bit more insight of the characters. Also, good way to distract your countdown to the latest Heroes of Olympus book.
