this was actually great- super cute, classic Hallmark movie, a little sexy, and cheesey enough to keep you smiling throughout.

Cute. Not much more to add.
A Princess for Christmas was all over bookstagram in December but I wasn’t able to get a copy until recently. The book follows Leo, a cab driver in NYC who randomly picks up Princess Marie of Eldovia. You can guess what happens next...
What I liked: The book starts cute. I liked the side characters of Gabby and Mr. Benz. I also liked that Marie was a smart princess trying to figure out how to save refugees and her country’s watchmaking business.
What didn’t work for me: The author acknowledges the Hallmark movie-esque plot a lot (too much for my taste). Also, this book is if Hallmark and Skinamax had a baby - I knew this book got steamy but it felt out of place with the overly sweet storyline. Towards the middle, Leo seems to have a personality change and just wants to talk dirty and say fuck a lot.
Who should read it: Save this one for Christmas and read it with hot cocoa and a tv Christmas movie on in the background.
3.5 ⭐️
This book is so charming. The characters are sweet and earnest and very likable. The writing is great and the author somehow makes falling in love with a Princess relatable.
It did seem a bit long and slow in parts but I did thoroughly enjoy reading this.
A good Christmas read!

A huge thank you to Avon Books for my copy of A PRINCESS FOR CHRISTMAS.
I wanted to love this book, I really did. I've seen rave reviews over all booksta. But unfortunately this one missed the mark for me.
As it goes with holiday romance reads, it was a cute and predictable story. I loved the relationship between Leo and Gabby. Gabby and Mr. Benz were my favorite characters. The predictability wasn't what bothered me though. What bothered was how cringey parts of this were! The steam was uncomfortable. Leo constantly calling Marie "princess" had me literally rolling my eyes. I KNOW she was a princess but come on. It was like every other page!!!!
Cute story but not my favorite.

The dirty talk was completely out of place considering the rest of the book but it reads exactly like a Hallmark movie otherwise and it was cute.
3.5/5
Overall an enjoyable Christmas read. I felt like the relationship progressed very quickly and the drama toward the end was kind of dumb. I thought it was a cute Christmas romance and I look forward to reading more from this author.

3.5- it’s becoming a holiday break tradition to read a book version of a Hallmark movie near Christmas. This was a more clever and steamier version of those mindless holiday movies I love to watch. Tis the season!
I think I liked this better than the sequel (which I accidentally read first). Marie and Leo were endearing, and it was obviously nice to have the background for where book 2's romance came from
