This was Hallmark cute! Like cavity inducing sweet with a dirty talking MMC. It felt like I was watching one of those Hallmark Christmas movies. I feel like this could be easily adapted for one of there movies. So if you are looking for a light, uncomplicated read then this is for you.
In this book Marie en Leo become acquainted when she is in desperate need of transportation to an event and he is the only convenient taxi driver at the time able to help her. This is not taking into account that he has his little sister, Gaby, and neighbor's dog, Max, in the car as well. Leo decides to help her on the urging of his sister, soon finding out that he's driving an actual princess.
From there he becomes her driver for her stay in New York and they strike up a friendship. So much so that she invites him and his sister to come back to Eldovia with her for Christmas. Sparks fly from there. Are they brave enough to embark on something that will put much more than their hearts on the line?

While the book did delve into the loss of a parent for both Leo and Marie I feel like it could have been taken further. But it does highlight the different kinds of grief people go through when they've lost someone.
I love how Leo is so concerned about raising his sister right after losing both his parents. It was quite funny to read how flustered he got at Gaby mentioning getting her period for the first time.
I loved seeing Marie develop into someone sure of her worth and also not afraid to go after what she wants. So much so that she is even willing to abdicate the throne so she could be with Leo. Like I said it was very much Hallmark and it filled the void of needing a holiday fix.

Hallmark Christmas movie with a bit of spice! This was just okay to me, I don't even remember a lot of what happens. However, I've heard the second book is better so I'm planning to continue with the series
