Such a sweet little christmas story. Of course it's kind of cheesy and for the most part predictable but it has really good moments and a lot of christmas spirit.
Princess Marie of Eldovia kind of keeps ending up as a damsel in distress, always saved by the driver she hired for her time in NYC.
Meanwhile Leo has enough on his plate with taking care of his little sister between two jobs. But when Gabby begs him to stop for the princess in a gown outside of the UN, he decides to help. He even agrees to be her private driver and soon he and Gabby end up spending Christmas in Eldovia, where he discovers that the princess who is all wrong for him, could be his perfect match…
This the kind of Christmas Story I love to read, giving me all the Hallmark Christmas Movie Vibes, a modern fairytale with some extremely steamy scenes top.
Marie is a princess with a serious attitude, that I absolutely loved. And Leo is knock-out hot, nothing not to love about him. Gabby is adorable and Max and the others were great side characters with enough depth.
There are all the clichés and some misunderstandings but that’s fine with me. What bothered me were the lengthy periods where nothing seemed to happen. I mean some parts of this were completely irrelevant and the complete thing could have been shorter but all in all, the story is pretty cute and well worth a read.

This Christmas story was exactly what I needed. It almost gave me Hallmark movie vibes but with more spice. I've always loved a slow burn romance and having European royals involved in the plot is even better! I smiled the entire time I read this and once I actually sat down with it, I flew through it in a few sittings. Great way to end my 2021 reading!

Everyone makes their own choices, and my choice was, this book wasn't for me. I was looking for a sweet and fun romance and figured this sounded like a Hallmark movie in the form of a book. But after 2 chapters it had gone way past my swearing threshold so I chose to DNF this book.
If swearing doesn't bother you, then you will probably love this book. I really liked the characters of Leo, Gabby and Marie and felt they were genuine.

Hallmark.. but add a lot of spice!
I was in the mood for Christmas and went in blind with this one! I was definitely surprised at the spice level based off the sweet cover, but the story was really engaging and I couldn’t help but root for everyone involved in this story!

“What I’m trying to do here,” Leo said immediately, speaking low so only Marie could hear, “is the royal version of throwing you over my shoulder and carting you away so everyone knows you’re mine.”
Marie Joséphine Annagret Elena, Princess of Eldovia and Leonardo Ricci, knight in a yellow taxi are two strangers from completely different worlds that meet on the streets of New York City. Leo’s sister, Gabby, spots Marie trying to signal a cab and wants him to stop to help her, but he doesn’t want to since he’s off duty. When he finally stops, his first impression of her was that she was snooty.
Leo has a lot on his plate. From being a cab driver, to a super at his apartment building, taking care of his younger sister and now being a chauffeur to the Princess of Eldovia. As he’s driving her around NY, they slowly start to become friends and open up to each other. Marie invites Leo and Gabby to spend Christmas at Eldovia. Leo is having a hard time being there especially with the huge social and economic gulf between them. He feels like he doesn’t belong, but isn’t ashamed of his life.
When Marie ask Leo to embark a “sexual affair” no-strings-attached, things start to get a little complicated when feelings start to develop. Also the fact that her father, the King, is set for her to get married to a family friend. But a princess and a cab driver can’t be together.. right?
