This was spicier than I was expecting, but I wasn't mad about that.

Okay, this book super duper fluffy and I'm not even going to try and sidestep that. I think the author succeeded in her goal to write a Hallmark movie into a book. I'm not one for those movies, mainly because the cheesiness makes me cringe with embarrassment, but I think it worked in book form because I was able to escape it by just...skimming forward.
My only real issue with this book is something I don't quite know how to formulate. The best way I can describe it is that...the male lead POV really felt like it was written by a woman. Which is obviously something inescapable is said writer is a woman. There were just some things about him that felt a little bit too flawless or like "ooh here's the perfect guy." This may sound dumb but I don't want a perfect guy nor do o want to read about one. Flaws are so interesting and help shape the character and I really wish that Leo had more to him than "Oh no my parents died." I think the likes of Emily Henry, Helen Hoang, and Tessa Bailey really exceed at this aspect.
I do plan on reading the sequel next holiday season because why not.

Cute hallmarky rom com. They point out how much it’s like hallmark several times. The only down fall of this book is the love interest at times can not get over his need to be a “tough guy”.
