adventurous challenging dark emotional mysterious sad fast-paced

I love weird, mysterious journeys like this one. The pieces fall in bit by bit, and it really is dreamlike. Sure, not all the answers come out, but each realization is felt and provides a lot to think about. It had some of the odd, twisting quality for me as something like I'm Thinking of Ending Things, which was such a treat.

Terrifying experimental horror, somewhere between Pet Semetary and "The Thing On The Doorstep" as imagined by Shirley Jackson or Clarice Lispector. Vacation horror on the worst sense. The last pages are haunting. The poison and sickness are everywhere, invisible, waiting.
