This is definitely an interesting book and a mystery that kept me on my toes. It was kind of hard at times to see what was happening to Molly. But It had a great ending and so I would highly recommend it as a great mystery thriller with a protagonist that you can root for. It was nice to see Molly find her people and place.

This book reminded me of Eleanor Oliphant is Fine a bit — the main characters being somewhat strange and therefor similar. I liked that the narrator was morally grey, because she was a bit different than other people. I also found her naivety to be quite refreshing if not a bit unbelievable. All in all, a quick read that is interesting and well-written.

The story was definitely an  interesting concept, a maid that cleans your room knows a lot about you but cleans everything up after you so it’s a good crime scene. However, I found aspects of Molly’s personality to just be convenient for the plot. I saw other reviews before starting that described her as a neurotypical person’s view of how a neurodivergent person acts and that made me hesitant to read this but it was for a book club. I made it  through the book without a problem and it kept my interest. I did enjoy the story but I still felt like the book justified a lot of Molly’s behavior, especially near the end of the book. I understand the narrator doesn’t necessarily reflect the author but it felt off at times.

It was a neat premise, and the route the author took wasn't worn out either. It was very unique. Everything was tied together in the end but it was just a bit underwhelming for me. Not a bad book, just not as surprising and mysterious as I had hoped. It was also frustrating too that the way the outcome unfolded was like, so unrealistic and way too perfect and on the nose like, it just seemed like, very typical happy ending resolution.

CW: drug trafficking/use, violence, blood/injury, death, ableism, gaslighting, cancer/illness

I loved this so much, I devoured all in a day, completely unintentionally. once I started I just couldn't stop. I love molly and I got so angry at all those around her treating her poorly and taking advantage of her. her character reads as possibly autistic, and even though it's not explicitly stated, I'm sure it's intentional.

I will absolutely be picking up more from Nita Prose in the future, I had a blast with this one!

This book was incredibly predictable but I loved it anyway.
