A few thoughts:

1. I really didn’t like the main character, Olivia. She seemed really immature and I just wasn’t here for that.

2. The conflict just goes away so quickly. I was a bit appalled that Bennett wasn’t angry for a longer period of time - that was silly, in my opinion. He was far too quick to forgive and forget.

3. As someone born in 1989, am a bit offended by the way folks born in the year of the snake are portrayed. For all the talk about there being positives to all zodiac years… having the snake be the one problematic character was annoying. Plus was that mostly done because it’s fun to say “he was a snake” and have the double meaning? Ugh.

Cute romance. Low drama. A bit too slow for me.

Book club pick

Lunar Love has been on my TBR for such a long time now, and I was happy to pick it for my book club pick. I am a sucker for grandma/granddaughter relationships and I loved that this one started with Olivia taking over the family business for her Grandma, and I loved seeing that relationship throughout the book. I really enjoyed the matchmaking aspect of this book, and how the Chinese zodiac was incorporated. I also adored the costumes and traditions of the Chinese culture that were sprinkled throughout. I loved both MC, and their progression. The banter was fun, and swoony This one is perfect for fans of closed door romance, and anyone who loves strong family dynamics. This one does handle some tough topics, but I really thought they were all handled well. I'll be picking up the next book by this author soon.
