I found myself absolutely devouring this at any moment I could. At the bus stop, on the bus, lunch breaks at work, as soon as I'm home.
Jacqueline Wilson was my favourite author as a child so to read a book about some of her old characters grown up, was just full of nostalgia for me. I loved the wee nods throughout to her other books and found myself grinning by the end of it.
So happy to hear about Ellie grown up and tackling adult life in her 40s.

This book started off really annoying me, I found the talking about her weight and calories really old fashioned and depressing. It was silly and irrelevant, women are so much more. Eventually about 50% of the way through I gave up as it was just getting more irritating and silly.
Shame as I liked Jaqueline Wilson’s books as a teenager but im now questioning that and the messages they sent based on the self deprecating theme in this book.
