Following Ellie, Magda and Nadine as they enter their 40s I was really excited to see how they had matured and to have a glimpse at some favourite childhood characters all grown up! The writing style still feels very immature despite this being advertised as an adults book, and I found the relationship between Ellie and her old teacher a little strange regardless of their age. I wouldn’t class this as a “must read” but I did enjoy the comfort of familiar characters and reconnecting with the original books I read as a teenager.

I mean this book made me FEEL things, but this was so hard to read. Points to JW for conveying EXACTLY how it can feel to ‘think’ you are with the right person for you, and all the boxes are ticked, but there’s just something missing.
