Personally, I loved it. It was very nostalgic for me. And it honestly brought me so much joy to be reading one of Jacqueline Wilson’s books as an adult. But I gotta say Gary made me CRINGE - urgh he was so infuriating and made my face go like this the whole time: 🥴🥴🥴🥴.

completely understand people’s disappointment with this book because it’s marketed as an adult novel, but it’s really just another JW YA book with adult characters. nobody acted their age in this book, but I honestly didn’t care because it was so nostalgic slipping back into her books and the Girls universe again. once a Jacqueline Wilson girl, always a Jacqueline Wilson girl!

Was really looking forward to the adult continuation of one of my favourite childhood series, but it read like the exact same books just with 40 year old characters. I had to look up whether it was meant to be a YA novel! Totally missed the mark for me.
