I loved the journey of this book and all of the characters. Vibrant in descriptions and humorous at times, I enjoyed this thoroughly. The undercurrent of tension throughout, regarding the fate of one of the characters and the broader racial tensions, had me on the edge.

Not to sound like Gene Shalit, but this book rollicks. It is rollicking. I loved everything about it, including Dion Graham's singular audiobook performance.

At first I was a little confused with the time jumps, but then I was glad for them. An amazing story that actually put some things into perspective for me. A different take on the normal mobster genre. Less focus on the big guys and more on the ones who do the leg work.
