Fantastic.
As pertinent to everyday life as sword fighting. An internsting and grounded piece of philosophical and practical knowledge. Must read.

This was a painfully slow and uninteresting read for me. Thankfully it was short.
Although I did enjoy Musasahi’s explanation of the WAY of the warrior, and that it is a “RESOLUTE ACCEPTANCE OF DEATH”. I interpret this as having the mindset to be able to overcome any circumstance. The confidence he had in his abilities to be able to defeat ten men was impressive, but my interest was piqued by only a few paragraphs.
The bulk of this book covers Musashi’s sword-fighting and war strategies, which for me, was unrelatable. Although, I would use this book if I was ever going to take up the practice of sword fighting, which at the moment I don’t have the time or inclination to do so.

Tactical book that can be applied to sword fighting, sports, business and life in general. The first half offered more relatable content than the second half.

This and Art of War can change your life if you can somehow memorize these amazing principles. I have trouble remembering them all but there are a handful that really stick with me, like appearing weak when you’re strong and vice versa, or how the void is good and not evil, trying to “perceive” to see rather than only seeing with your eyes, etc etc. I won’t go on, but you don’t have to be a swordsman to understand the genius of Musashi. I also recommend the fictional novel “Musashi”, it’s amazing!
